In 2005, exploration activities concentrated on the extension of known
orebodies and identification of new orebodies both at existing and
undeveloped sites. In addition the company continued with
its expansion of the African footprint strategy within the most
prospective gold belts of both West and East Africa and now has
operations in six countries, with a portfolio of 159 targets on a
groundholding of 20 006km
2
.
Exploration

as well as the resource conversion work, exploration is
focused on the next discovery.

a regional exploration programme is underway to discover
